Farming an acre in the Upper Wolf Island Creek subwatershed in the Roanoke River basin.
Goatsrue (Tephrosia virginiana) – inflorescences are the two-inch long spires of dusky yellow.Close-up of the first plant in the row. The spread on these monsters is about 3-4 feet. Definitely not what I was expecting. And the branches get so top-heavy that they sprawl out into the paths – an embarrassment of riches!Close-up of the pinnate leaf. Is that a predatory beetle? I hope so, but not sure. Flowering spires in the background.
